Welcome in 2024
The website provider changed, the design changed and we didn't find the time to update our website. Otherwise we're still standing! A lot of events happened and are now already history. Time is flying by and we're trying to keep in touch with our customers and friends - as we still juggle family, full time jobs, volunteering at the Cariboo Keepsakes Store and since last fall for the Quesnel Downtown Association. New products entered the shelfs in our booth at the Cariboo Keepsakes Store and we were honored to create Mayor Ron Paull's 2023 Christmas Cards. For 2024 we're focusing on updates of our famous designs, a new variety of products and special orders for customers.

Winter Photo is catching up with you all and wishing you a stress free summer of 2022!
June, 04. 2022
We didn't think this was even possible, but 2022 is going to be even more crazy. Winter Photo was and is working hard to secure good prices for our customers but it is a daily battle with printing prices in Canada, in the US and in Europe.
Our business is not only a person who is taking pictures. Every product we sell is completely designed from scratch and given to the best quality and prize offering printing companies. We pack every single product ourselves for selling, we ship it personally to our customers - or have it shipped to the lowest possible cost from a nearby printing company. And all advertising for our business, for "Alexandria Beeswax Candles" and for the non-profit Co-Op "Quesnel Crafters Society DBA Cariboo Keepsakes Store" comes directly from our desks.
We design for free business cards, small banners and other simple advertising products for small home based businesses - only charging printing costs.
Please use this summer to relax with your family and friends. We hope this message finds you well and healthy! Take care and all the best, your Winter Photo Family.
Buying our products is possible through our online store, our Facebook and Twitter pages and in person at the Cariboo Keepsakes Store in Quesnel, located on the corner of Front Street and Carson Avenue - across the historic walking bridge - in the old Hudson's Bay building and from July 3th through September 4th at the Farmers Market every Sunday between 9am and 1pm in the Alexandria Community Hall - one kilometer North of the Alexandria Café. Please make sure you stop by there. For customized products please email as soon as possible to: winter.photo@live.com
Hope to see you soon!

B.C. declares provincial state of emergency over COVID-19 pandemic
B.C. declares provincial state of emergency over COVID-19 pandemic
March, 17. 2020
VANCOUVER -- The B.C. government has now declared a provincial state of emergency over the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
The new measure, announced Wednesday by Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth, is in addition to the public health emergency declared the previous day by provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.
Farnworth said the provincial emergency will help the government support Dr. Henry and the Ministry of Health in their “swift, powerful response to the COVID pandemic.”
Winter Photo will cancel all events until further notice.
There is no way that we will take group picture sessions until the province is lifting the state of emergency.
Wedding picture sessions who are involving only the bride and groom may be discussed due to the circumstances.
Please don't put yourself, your family, friends and strangers at risk by standing with your original event planning.
We are open for online business and everything including merchandise and advertising. Let's discuss future events and how to bring your business back in track after this horrible times. You will not be charged now!
Take care and all the best,

Happy Valentine's Day 2020

The holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery. At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine's Day. It came to be celebrated as a day of romance from about the 14th century.

During the Roman era, March marked the beginning of the calendar. Then, in 46 B.C., Julius Caesar created the Julian calendar, which set the new year when it is celebrated today, Live Science previously reported. ... The Gregorian calendar was an attempt to make the calendar stop wandering with respect to the seasons.

The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine (he was the first Christian Roman Emperor). ... Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving
October, 14. 2019
The first official, annual Thanksgiving in Canada was celebrated on 6 November 1879, though Indigenous peoples in Canada have a history of celebrating the fall harvest that predates the arrival of European settlers. Sir Martin Frobisher and his crew are credited as the first Europeans to celebrate a Thanksgiving ceremony in North America, in 1578. They were followed by the inhabitants of New France under Samuel de Champlain in 1606. The celebration featuring the uniquely North American turkey, squash and pumpkin was introduced to Nova Scotia in the 1750s and became common across Canada by the 1870s. In 1957, Thanksgiving was proclaimed an annual event to occur on the second Monday of October. It is an official statutory holiday in all provinces and territories except Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
